Mercedes-Benz South Africa's C Edition
Mercedes-Benz South Africa has added the C 300 Edition C models to their C-Class Saloon, Estate and Coupé ranges. This model features the direct injection 3498 cc V6 unit as found in the E-Class. Power and torque are unchanged for this new application, with the 3.5 litre engine mustering maximum power of 252 PS (185 kw) at 6500 rpm, and 340 N·m of torque between 3500 rpm and 4500 rpm.
The Edition C models receive some styling tweaks to set them apart from the rest of the range, with chromed exhaust tips, AMG bodystyling on the front and rear aprons and side sill panels. Darkened headlight lenses and glossy black louvre in the radiator grille add to the list of changes. 17 inch wheels are standard for the Saloon and Estate variants, while the Coupé gets 18 inch wheels.
CO2 emissions are claimed to be 185 g/km. Pricing excluding CO2 tax has been set (at time of writing) at R499 443, including VAT for the C 300 Edition C saloon.
