Dodge has lightened and tightened the lithe Viper SRT10 to create an ACR version. With non-essentials stripped out and modifications to bodywork and suspension, the ACR package is intended for owners who would like to run their Vipers on the track, and then drive them back home.

Aerodynamic tweaks give the Viper SRT10 ACR better lateral acceleration, whilst track-ready bodywork modifications include a front splitter to provide protection and wear resistance, and an adjustable rear wing for additional downforce.

Cosmetically, the car receives gaudy, boy-racer two-tone paint scheme with a black centre section, although the standard one-colour paint option is available. The interior features red-stitched leather trim, and the massive rear wing shows off the weave of the carbon fibre material it's made of. Matt black wheels round off the look.

Suspension and brakes have also been uprated. The shocks are adjustable without needing to remove the wheels, and the dampers can also be adjusted for ride height and damping. Brembo brakes mated to Stop Tech rotors are housed inside lightweight wheels, reducing unsprung mass.

The 8.4 litre V10 engine is unchanged, still producing 608 PS (600 bhp) and 759 Nm (560 lbft).

The Viper SRT10 ACR will be available from the second quarter of 2008.
