Carfolio.com is proud to announce a derived value for CO₂ emissions of older vehicles. Using the older fuel consumption data as a basis, the Carfolio.com formula predicts what the related CO₂ emissions would be.

Fuel consumption figures provided by manufacturers are all achieved under laboratory conditions, strictly adhering to parameters laid down by European legislation. Recently, CO₂ data is released in conjunction with these tested fuel consumption figures, but in the past, although there have been similar standards laid down for testing the fuel consumption, the CO₂ data was not released. By deriving a method to find an approximate overall fuel consumption value from older fuel consumption testing methods, Carfolio.com can now offer some idea as to what the CO₂ emissions of vehicles could be. These figures are not completely compatible with contemporary values for CO₂ emissions data, nor can they be, due to the changes in the testing methodologies, but they can be useful as an estimate.
