Toyota have released a limited edition turbocharged Vitz for the Japanese domestic market. The titchy turbocharged Toyota has a 1NZ-FE Toyota mill with power boosted to 152 PS (150 bhp/112 kW) at 6000 rpm by the quaintly-named GAZOO Racing tuned by MN tuning outfit, handily contracted to simply "GRMN". Torque is up too, to 206 N·m at 4000 rpm. The rest of the package fitted to the Toyota Vitz GRMN Turbo, as the tiny terror is called, adds ventilated disk brakes all round, a leather-rimmed steering wheel, LED headlights and other styling changes, and a tuned suspension. Wheels are BBS aluminium jobs, and are shod with 215/45 R 17 rubber. Weight is a slim 1070 kg, and the performance is likely to be brisk, although Toyota and GRMN have been coy so far about releasing performance claims.
The Toyota Vitz GRMN Turbo will only be available to order online from August 25 2013, and will be limited to a run of just 200 units on a strictly first-come, first-served basis. There will only be two colours available, a Super White and a Black Mica.
