New big Mercedes-Benz coupes

Mercedes-Benz recently launched their latest CL coupe range. Only 2 versions are offered initially, with an AMG version expected a little later. This iteration of the CL Class carries the C 216 designation.
The CL 500 is powered by a 5.5-litre V8, normally aspirated, and pumping out 388 PS at 6000 rpm. This shoots the massive (5065 mm long) coupe to 100 km/h from rest (62 mph) in a claimed 5.4 seconds, with Mercedes-Benz' 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission, the only currently available for this range.
The bigger version, the CL 600, has a twin-turbo V12 of 5.5 litres. With 517 PS and 830 Nm of torque, the 0-100km/h time drops to a mere 4.6 seconds, according to Mercedes-Benz claims. This engine is only available with the 5-speed automatic transmission.
