Not many cars have had both a supercharger and a turbocharger at the same time. As far as we know, Lancia were first to do this, with the almighty Lancia Delta S4 rally weapon. An 1800cc engine was super- and turbocharged to give 250 PS in road trim. A few years later, Nissan decided to try this approach as well, fitting a specially-destroked 930cc version of the March (Micra outside of Japan) with both a super- and turbocharger to produce what they called the March Super Turbo. So equipped, it managed all of 110 PS. These two previous efforts are mentioned solely because VW are planning a few "twincharged" models for release. These will feature, you guessed it, both a super- and a turbocharger. Not much details are known at the moment, but as soon as the specifications are available, you'll find them here. As usual.
