Monday June 13, 2005
Alfa Romeo have released final specs for the new 159, replacement for the 156. Featuring a slightly longer body (+105 mm in wheelbase, +225 mm in length), the 159 loses the concealed rear door handles that set such a trend with designers currently.
The 159 range is also the first recipient of the GM-derived 3.2 litre V6 engine. The engine produces an impressive 260 PS from its 3175 cc. Other engines in the range at launch are a 2.0 litre JTS 4 cylinder with 160 PS, a 2.2 litre, 185 PS 4 cylinder, and a choice of 3 diesels, from an 8 valve 1.9 litre unit producing 120 PS, to a 2.4 litre 5 cylinder with 16 valves and 200 PS.
