Several new AMG Mercedes-Benz models have broken cover lately.
The SLK 55 gets a power hike to 400 PS (up from 360) with the new Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Black Series, which has a higher top speed than usual for a German car, not being limited to 250km/h but to 280km/h instead. It features Mercedes-Benz's latest 7-speed automatic gearbox, and is slightly faster than the ordinary SLK 55 AMG.
The E 63 AMG is also available in Estate form, with the monster V-8 powering this station wagon to a 4.6 second 0-100km/h sprint time. Despite its kerb weight of 1995kg, this mad wagon gets to the benchmark 100km/h from rest in a scant 4.6 seconds. The naturally aspirated V-8 produces 514 PS and has torque of 630 Nm. It too features the 7-speed auto 'box.
