Audi have unveiled their stunning mid-engined supercar, the Audi R8, at the Paris Motorshow. Powered by the RS4's naturally-aspirated direct-injection 4.2-litre V8, Audi's first production mid-engined car hits 100km/h from rest in 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of just over the 300km/h mark. Being an Audi, the chassis features all-wheel drive. Diesel and V10 versions are likely to follow. The styling is almost guaranteed to be popular amongst the trendy set, but is not going to find universal acclaim. That said, it isn't ugly by any stretch of the imagination. For a first effort into this market segment, it is quite likely to do well, even against more established opposition.
