New Audi A8 models

Audi have released the most powerful production car diesel engine ever. The latest A8, the A8 4.2 TDI, features a 4.1 litre V8 diesel, with common-rail injection and 326 PS (322 bhp) at just 3750 rpm. A bundle of torque is available too, with 650 Nm (479 lbft) from 1600 rpm all the way to 3500 rpm. Mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the A8 is claimed to get to 100 km/h from rest in a scant 5.9 seconds, and will cruise up to 250 km/h, where the limiter kicks in to spoil the fun. A long-wheelbase version is also available. It is 80 mm longer in wheelbase, and 50 kg heavier than the standard.
The A8 3.2 FSI has also been released. It features a 260 PS (256 bhp) 3.1 litre direct-injection petrol engine, a high 12.5:1 compression ratio, and a choice of transmissions and drivetrains, with continuously variable gearboxes, automatics and quattro four wheel drive all being available. It too is available in a long-wheelbase version.
