Mazda Kabura
Sunday January 22, 2006
Mazda's latest concept, the Kabura, is an amazingly pretty little coupe. Powered by the 2-litre twin cam engine from the latest generation of MX-5, the little (4050 mm long) sportscar should be able to perform at least as well as it looks. It also features unusual "3+1" 4-seater accommodation, with the fourth seat being rather close to the driver's seat, and the driver's passenger seat being placed slightly in ahead of the driver's own, leaving the seat immediately behind that with more space than would usually be available in a package of this size.
Seating aside, Mazda look set to do for the affordable coupe sector with the Kabura what they did for the small roadster market with the original MX-5. This can be no bad thing. Let's hope they build it.
