Audi upgrades 2.0 TFSI engine in A4 and A5 ranges, and announces new pricing

Without much fanfare, Audi has given the 2.0 TFSI four cylinder some upgrades. Power is up to 165 kW (225 PS) from 155 kW (211 PS), achieved between 4500 and 6250 rpm. Torque remains unchanged at 350 N·m, but now peak at 1500-4500 rpm instead of 1500-4200 rpm. CO2 emissions drop slightly in all of the models equipped with the enhanced engine, and fuel economy improves correspondingly.
Audi Germany, Audi USA, Audi UK and Audi South Africa have all released pricing for the improved model, with the German price starting at €37 700 for the six speed manual front-wheel drive A4 Limousine (that's saloon or sedan to English speaking people) and rising to €44 000 for the A4 Avant quattro (all-wheel drive) 2.0 TFSI with the S-Tronic gearbox. A4 allroad and A5 models are dearer still, with the A4 allroad hitting €44 000 for the S-Tronic model, and the A5 Cabriolet topping out at €49 050 with the same gearbox.
In the UK, Audi have priced the new A4 Saloon 2.0 TFSI quattro from ₤31 220 with the S-Tronic gearbox, rising to £34 850 for the A4 2.0 TFSI quattro "Black Edition". Audi's A4 Avant with the more powerful 2,0 TFSI engine ranges in price from £32 520 to £36 150 for the A4 Avant 2,0 TFSI quattro "Black Edition". The A5 Cabriolet tops the list of the Audis equipped with the uprated engine in the UK, with a base price of £41 825 for the quattro S Line Special Edition variant.
Audi South Africa have priced the A4 Sedan (Saloon) from R415 000 for the multitronic CVT gearbox version, and R460 500 for the A4 allroad 2.0 TFSI with the 7 speed S-Tronic automatic transmission. The Audi A5 Coupé with the new engine tweaks and the same S-Tronic gearbox will cost R525 000, the A5 Sportback R515 000 for the same configuration, and the A5 Cabriolet R585 000.
Audi USA have increased the power of the 2.0 TFSI unit in their A4 range to 217 horsepower for the 2014 model year. The engine does duty in the A4 Sedan and allroad, as well as in the A5 Coupé and A5 Cabriolet. The front wheel drive A4 2.0 TFSI starts at $33 800, the allroad at $40 700 and the A5 from $39 000 for the A5 2.0 TFSI Coupé with the six speed manual 'box, up to $55 800 for the A5 2.0 TFSI Cabriolet with the Tiptronic transmission.
