The Maserati Ghibli SS is a rear wheel drive motor car, with its engine mounted in the front, and a 2 door coupé body designed by Ghia.

It's powered courtesy of a dry sumped naturally aspirated engine of 4.9 litre capacity. This unit features double overhead camshaft valve gear, a 90 degree V 8 cylinder layout, and 2 valves per cylinder. It develops 330 bhp (335 PS/246 kW) of power at 5500 rpm, and maximum torque of 481 N·m (355 lb·ft/49 kgm) at 4000 rpm. It features dry sump-type lubrication.
The power is supplied to the wheels through a 3 speed automatic gearbox.
