Power is produced by a double overhead camshaft, 5.1 litre turbocharged dry-sumped 8 cylinder motor, with 4 valves per cylinder that produces power and torque figures of 1100 bhp (1115 PS/820 kW) at 7800 rpm and 1280 N·m (944 lb·ft/130.5 kgm) at 4100 rpm respectively. It features dry sump-type lubrication.
