The De Soto Firesweep is a 4 door saloon (sedan) style car with a front mounted engine driving through the rear wheels.
The Firesweep forms part of De Soto's LS1-L model range.
It is powered by a naturally aspirated engine of 5.7 litre capacity. This powerplant features overhead valve valve gear, a 90 degree V 8 cylinder layout, and 2 valves per cylinder. It produces 280 bhp (284 PS/209 kW) of power at 4600 rpm, and maximum torque of 515 N·m (380 lb·ft/52.5 kgm) at 2400 rpm.
The engine delivers its power through to the wheels by means of a 3 speed manual gearbox.
